THE CURRICULUM
BRAVO MUSIC STUDIO
At Bravo Music Studio, we make learning and teaching beginner levels a fun and easy experience. For those just starting out, our approach ensures that learning the basics is enjoyable and accessible.
BRAVO LEVELS
Preliminary, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 non - RCM Curriculum / books. Upon completion of Level 5, students automatically transfer to RCM Levels starting Level 6
DURATION
Each level typically takes 1 to 1.5 years to complete. We value both progress and the quality of lessons, so we advance at each student’s individual pace.
EXAM
RCM LEVELS
Level 6 to Level 10.
Students transition to the RCM Repetertoires and Etudes starting in level 6. Playing Playing exams are booked, paid for, and completed through the RCM.
THEORY
Introduced in level 4. Both RCM & non-RCM curriculum students will have the option to sign up to our "Theory Club Classes". All students wishing to get their certificates the RCM Theory Exams. Theory exams are booked, paid for, and completed through the RCM.
Completion of a Bravo Playing Exam at the end of each level. The examiners at Bravo Music Studio Inc will conduct the exam. This exam is NOT an RCM exam, however, it prepares students for more difficult and higher level exams. The exams are paid separately.
GOALS
At Bravo Music Studio, we prioritize setting goals and balancing fun with progress. We incorporate exams and recitals into our program because they provide significant benefits for students. We set specific objectives to help students earn high school credits and work towards reaching at least Level 8. Achieving this level opens up rewarding opportunities, including the potential to teach piano in the future.
COURSE CONTENT
Technical Requirements + Lesson Repertoires + Supplementary Books such as pop or worship songs (schedule permitting)
ROYAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC
The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) is a prestigious institution dedicated to advancing music education and the arts. Founded in 1886, the RCM offers a comprehensive and internationally recognized system of music examinations and certifications, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. The RCM's curriculum emphasizes both performance and theory, providing students with a structured pathway to develop their musical skills and achieve their goals in music education.
RCM LEVELS
Level Pre, 1 to Level 10.
DURATION
Each level typically takes 1 to 2 years to complete. RCM Repertoires & Etudes are more challenging and may require more time to master, even though you might learn fewer pieces compared to the non-RCM Bravo Curriculum.
EXAMS
Playing exams are booked, paid for, and completed through the RCM. For RCM Certification at Level Pre to 4, students need to complete the Playing (Practical) exam. For RCM Certification at Level 5 and above, both Playing (Practical) Exam AND Theory Exam are required.
THEORY
Introduced in level 4. Both RCM & non-RCM curriculum students will have the option to sign up to our "Theory Club Classes". Theory Exams starting in level 5 are booked, paid & completed through the RCM. The RCM requires theory level 5 - 10 in order to complete level certification (For example, Theory level 5 + Playing level 5 = Level 5 Certificate)

HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS
Successfully completing both the playing and practical exams with the RCM can earn you grade 11 & grade 12 high school credits. At our studio we are committed to helping you get there

TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES
LEVEL 8 +
For students who have completed Level 8, there are rewarding opportunities to further their musical journey. Achieving this level not only reflects a high degree of skill and dedication but also opens doors to teaching piano and sharing their passion with others.
