PRACTICE SUGGESTIONS
We strongly encourage all students to make daily piano practice a habit. Beginners can start with an electric keyboard, but as students' interests and commitment grow, investing in a higher-quality electric or acoustic piano with a full set of keys is highly recommended. Practice times vary based on age and level:
-
Beginners: 3-5 times per week for 20-30 minutes
-
Intermediates: 3-5 times per week for 30 minutes to 1 hour
-
Advanced: 5 times per week for a minimum of 1 hour
Establishing a consistent practice routine is essential for making progress and achieving your musical goals.
04
THEORY
Eligible theory students begin at Level 4. Theory Club courses, offered as group lessons, run separately from regular piano lessons from September to May. The examinations for these courses are completed through the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). Students will be required to complete Theory examinations starting level 5.

05
BRAVO EXAMINATIONS
Examinations are a key part of completing each level at our studio. At the end of this important milestone, students receive a formal report and a beautiful certificate to commemorate their achievement. Qualified examiners assess each student and provide detailed feedback on their progress and next steps for improvement. Additionally, these examinations help prepare younger students for more advanced assessments, such as those offered by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), should they choose to pursue a more rigorous exam structure in the future.
06
RECITALS
We love showcasing our students' beautiful pieces and hard work during our annual Spring Recital. Students of all levels are invited to perform in front of family and fellow musicians, providing a wonderful opportunity to boost confidence and practice. It’s truly one of the highlights of our studio year. We highly recommend participation in one or more of these events
07
BOOKS
Books are purchased through our studio. Families will be notified when it is time to order new books for the next level. Orders for books are placed once at the beginning of each level. The cost of books per level ranges from $50 to $150, with prices increasing progressively at each level. Theory Club Classes will also require the purchase of books & other course materials ranging $50 - $100.
Books can be reused or shared amongst siblings
08
ONLINE BOOKING
Our online student portal simplifies lesson booking and rescheduling, making it easy and accessible while reducing the need for back-and-forth emails and text messages. Please note that make-up lessons must be completed before the end of the scholastic year.
